Introduction

It is in a green setting dominated by the Schlumpf and Ballon d’Alsace, summits of the Vosges mountains reaching heights of 1,000 and 1,250 metres respectively, that Chantal and Vincent GASSER offer you a warm welcome to their holiday cottage. It is located in Dolleren, in Alsace, south of the Haut-Rhin in the Doller valley.

With its 450 inhabitants, the ‘Dollérois’, Dolleren is a small village in the upper Masevaux valley. When you visit us, you will find essential values such as welcome and hospitality. Craftsmanship and agricultural life have also been preserved here.

Completely and meticulously renovated, our holiday cottage combines modern comfort with the authentic charm of traditional Alsatian houses. Contemporary comfort and Alsatian charm come together to offer you a warm and relaxing place to spend your vacation.

Set off to explore the many hiking trails, lush green forests and mountainous landscapes, then return to enjoy a cosy and welcoming home.

It was an old family home, as well as Chantal’s grandfather’s shoemaker’s workshop, that we decided to renovate and transform into a rural gîte. The idea was to keep the building’s structure and spirit while making it a cosy, comfy place that fits with modern life.

The renovation took more than two years of patience and expertise. The walls were restored to their former strength, the layout was redesigned to provide light and conviviality, and every detail was considered for the comfort of our future guests.
The before and after photos above show the scope of the work and the transformation that has been achieved.

Today, the guesthouse welcomes visitors in an authentic setting, where history remains and the warmth of a family home can still be felt.
